YouTube API Services

ShowStencil uses YouTube API Services. By using ShowStencil you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and your data is handled in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy.

YouTube data we access

  • Your own YouTube channel analytics and statistics (views, watch time, subscribers, revenue estimates and other performance metrics for the channel you connect).
  • Metadata for videos on your channel (titles, descriptions, thumbnails, publish dates and public statistics).
  • Publicly available data about competitor channels and their videos that we identify in your niche (public channel and video statistics and metadata only — never their private analytics).

How long we store it

We store YouTube API data only as long as needed to provide the Service. Competitor video and channel metadata is refreshed and replaced on an ongoing basis and stale copies are removed within 30 days. Statistical snapshots used to show trends over time are retained for up to 36 months. If you disconnect your channel, revoke access, or your account is inactive for an extended period, we delete the associated YouTube-derived data as described below.

How to revoke access

You can revoke ShowStencil's access to your Google/YouTube account at any time through your Google Account security settings. You may also delete your ShowStencil account (and all associated YouTube data) from your account settings. Revoking access stops all future data collection and triggers deletion of your stored YouTube-derived data.

Users connect their YouTube channel, and the platform automatically tracks competitor metrics, generates AI-written weekly reports, and suggests specific video ideas based on data.

If you interact with us on a social media platform using your social media account (e.g., Facebook or X), we receive personal information about you from such platforms such as your name, email address, and gender. Opting out of marketing and promotional communications: You can unsubscribe from our marketing and promotional communications at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link in the emails that we send, or by contacting us using the details provided in the section HOW CAN YOU CONTACT US ABOUT THIS NOTICE? below. You will then be removed from the marketing lists. 11. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES

Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage, no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this Privacy Notice.

California law requires us to let you know how we respond to web browser DNT signals. Because there currently is not an industry or legal standard for recognizing or honoring DNT signals, we do not respond to them at this time.

Under certain US state data protection laws, you can designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. We may deny a request from an authorized agent that does not submit proof that they have been validly authorized to act on your behalf in accordance with applicable laws.

Request Verification

Upon receiving your request, we will need to verify your identity to determine you are the same person about whom we have the information in our system. We will only use personal information provided in your request to verify your identity or authority to make the request. However, if we cannot verify your identity from the information already maintained by us, we may request that you provide additional information for the purposes of verifying your identity and for security or fraud-prevention purposes.

If you submit the request through an authorized agent, we may need to collect additional information to verify your identity before processing your request and the agent will need to provide a written and signed permission from you to submit such request on your behalf.

Appeals

California "Shine The Light" Law
